#10 All love given returns.
I am learning to know that I am loved.
Finding your tribe is a wondrous feeling; like comfortably sliding into a cozy pillow of connection. Things begin to fall into place and make sense while there is a very real and palpable energy that resonates deeply. This is what sobriety and Statement #10 in action feel like after connecting with Women for Sobriety and our beautiful 4C sisterhood.
Fear ruled the many thoughts about staying sober; how could I do this? Yet with WFS, I am no longer alone. Being able to connect with other women experiencing the same fears, fosters feelings of community and love while diminishing apathy and alienation. Sobriety and Statement #10 is the glue that binds us together like the pages of a well-read and loved book.
Even though I didn’t know how to practice this Statement initially, what mattered more was that I remain open to it. Becoming involved with WFS helped immensely; volunteers are always needed and greatly appreciated. Today there are more ways than ever to be connected while cementing recovery and forging lifelong bonds. This week, take action into Statement #10 with connection. What does this feel like for you?

Dear 4C Women,
My greatest fear was rejection. I lost my worth in that fear. Becoming involved in WFS was the beginning of lessening that fear. I am so grateful that I had to have a year’s clean sobriety in order to become a facilitator. That year helped me to find my voice and to believe so much in this positive, empowering program that I wanted to share with other women seeking compassion and love as they struggled with recovery. Over the years, I have received much love that led to knowing I am loved. That giving and receiving of love changed my life. I once shared part of an article on the topic of knowing that we are loved. It stayed with me. “Remember the deepest desire of the human heart is to belong…to be seen and worthy of kindness.” This is exactly what Karen wrote – being connected to others and finding a place of acceptance just as you are without judgment but with love and caring.
Who is in your love circle?
What experiences have helped you to know you are loved?
Are you courageous or comfortable in giving love?
Do you believe you are worthy of being loved?
How has love been returned to you?
Bonded in learning to give love and know you are loved, Dee
Dear Women for Sobriety Community,
I am thrilled to announce that we have a few double room openings available for the 2024 conference weekend. However, these rooms are expected to go quickly, so be sure to secure your spot as soon as possible. With the high demand, we anticipate selling out completely for the conference this year. That’s right, we will soon be sold out completely!
I am beyond excited to have the opportunity to meet each and every one of you in person at the conference. The power of connecting face-to-face for the first time is truly transformative, and I cannot wait to share this experience with all of you. Please make sure to stop by and say hi during the conference – I am looking forward to meeting you all.
Warm regards,
Michelle Shaivitz, Ed.D.
